Welcome to The Thatched Cottage, located in the heart of Old Tipperary, five minutes from Nenagh, Co. Tipperary in Ballycommon.
The homely ambience, fine dining and beverages, coupled with friendly staff catering for your every need, ensure it is the ideal venue for all your social and corporate events.
The structure itself has been preserved and restored to its original state, bringing with it that old worldly atmosphere. Today, the tradition is being nurtured and enhanced by the proprietors Kathleen & Tony Donlan.

We attended a family birthday party there. The venue is a great one to host a large gathering. The food was great, as was the service.
I’ve been here several times for communions, lunches, dinners and weddings and I’ve always enjoyed the food. Great value for money with good size portions. Kids area outside with a seating area also. Can’t fault this place at all!!

We ate at the Thatched Cottage 5 nights during our 7 night stay. We had 5 excellent meals, all huge and superbly cooked. The staff were so friendly and attentive and managed to seat our party of 8 at the weekend during a very busy evening

Passing by after visiting the woollen mill , it was lunch time and we had a very good surprise with the quality of the food. The lamb shank was worth coming back…which we did 2 days later!
In the area for a flying visit, thought we were dropping into a country pub for a pint , sandwich and watch the second half of Limerick v Waterford hurling semi final…What we experienced was something else, lovely venue, excellent staff and great food.
